When I showed up the 2nd with truck and trailer and I was told my trip was cancelled because I wasn't there for the first night. I was emailed that they wouldn't be open until the 2nd. Wish they could fix that bathroom soon.Ģ out of 5 overall: great grounds but it doesn't make up for the awful policies and workers.ĥ/5: nicely paved good room between spaces since sites are gigantic, it's a shame only one RV per site for those ones water insure for RV fill-up and they're building a dump station some pull through sites, close to lakes for recreation and very close to river for ambience.Ġ/5 for management and hosts: my reservation was scheduled for 6/1 to 6/9. Overall we had a great time, staff are so friendly. Campground was clean, nice, quiet and spacious and the fallen leaf lake did not disappoint, had a nice swim in the refreshing icy cold water, perfect summer weather and it was our first time camping in the area of South Lake Tahoe. I only put 4 stars as the restroom next to the Yurt #198 we stayed was closed and we asked the hosts why they said its being fixed but they said the fixing started since May when they opened back but i didn't see anyone was fixing it for our 2 days stay there, it was so inconvenient for all campers in that location, I see a lot of people trying to go there but i bet they were disappointed too that it was closed, we have to walk far to the next restroom and no luck in using the showers as we didn't have tokens we didn't know we were not informed that we have to buy tokens i thought i could use our quarters, it was our first time to camp in fallen leaf and to stay in a Yurt, i was able to get a last minute available Yurt site. Overall, We had a relaxing stay and can’t wait to stay again! We had one visit twice, and heard “bear commotion” nearly every night we were there from at least one site, usually around dinnertime. There are bears that frequent the campsites, so be sure to never leave food out, even if you’re right there. The campground is well kept up and there are a lot of hosts. I found this to be the case across much of the entire lake area. It will say you have “full bars” but you won’t be able to do anything. Enough to send texts or maybe a call but not much internet. The campground has very little to no cell service with Verizon, ATT or atMobile, and Ben with a booster. There is no warning that the water will shut off like with some other campgrounds. You need to buy tokens at the machine outside the camp store $1 per token, 1 token = 3 minutes. The showers closest to the 101 site were boiling hot and hard to get into. The showers are a toilet/sink/shower combo, which kind of grosses me out a little bit. Many of them however, have NO hooks whatsoever to hang anything on. There are several shower houses spread throughout the campground. Many families spend the day there but we were looking for a quiet stay. The lake is a short walk away, and is really nice to sit at in the late afternoon to relax. It’s one of our favorite campgrounds to date. But still a lot better than a lot of NF campgrounds we have been to. The middle loops seem to be possibly older, have shorter driveways, and are a little cramped with other neighbors. The campground overall is quiet and has some really nice sites. Picnic table is in the sun the whole time. Site 65 is small, and a little close to neighbors compared to some other sites here.
